Free Tax Filing Help – VITA Program
Offered January to June each tax season by TEACH Resource Group
VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.
VITA is an IRS-certified community tax program that offers free tax help to people who need assistance preparing their own tax returns. Though the VITA program is sponsored by the IRS, it is through the work of local non-profits (such as TEACH Resource Group) that the VITA service is made available to different regions of the United States.
🔹 Check if you are Eligible
- Must be filing taxes in the U.S.
- Must make less than $65,000 annually.
🔹 Gather the Documents
- Valid identification
- Social Security cards for everyone on the tax return
- W-2s
- 1099s
